Banca Comerciala Română (BCR) is the Official Bank of the European Youth Capital, Cluj-Napoca 2015, after signing the protocol with SHARE Cluj-Napoca, an NGO which is responsible for the management of this project and which is supported by Cluj-Napoca Municipality.
“I would like to salute the involvement of the largest commercial bank in Romania in a project devoted to the young, which is that category of persons needing the strongest support right now. I truly believe that their performance, their advertising opportunities and the projects that they will develop with the the municipality of the European Youth Capital, this partnership will make a significant contribution to improve the visibility of Cluj, of Romania, as well as to developing the youth sectors“, the mayor of Cluj-Napoca, Mr. Emil Boc, declared.
“It is my utmost pleasure to see that, to a transnational economic partner, multiculturalism and multilinguism are not just normal phenomena, but also resources, which is something that I want for Cluj-Napoca, too. Apart from the financial assistance, we are enjoying an extraordinary support in terms of creative and innovative projects”, the vice-mayor of Cluj-Napoca, Ms. Anna Horvath, also said.
BCR’s input will consist of financially supporting the projects developed by the project sponsors in order to promote nationally and internationally the “CLUJ-NAPOCA 2015, the European Youth Capital” programme, as well as to support the development of certain own projects.

As part of this partnership, BCR will also be support the academic excellence by means of partnerships with the largest higher education institutions in Cluj-Napoca, in order to develop some projects aimed at improving the employability of young people.

BCR will cover a number of activities, some of which will be to:
- Provide support by means of national promotion campaigns displayed in BCR subsidiaries and advertised in the mass-media;
- Co-fund certain community projects implemented by young people from Cluj;
- Run special projects in the main university centres in Romania;
- International promotion - through the subsidiaries of the banks that are part of the Erste Group;
- Organise certain special events for the community of young entrepreneurs.

We appreciate deeply the fact that BCR is supporting young people not only financially, but also by involving itself in education and entrepreneurship. The SHARE Federation is an organisation which implements the Cluj-Napoca - European Youth Capital 2015 programme, which is actually formed of 37 students’ and youth NGOs. Cluj Napoca has become Europe’s 2015 Youth Capital further to an international competition organised by the European Youth Forum and is Europe’s seventh Youth Capital.
