Women using the services of Banca Comercialǎ Românǎ (BCR) are trading more often and more by card on POS, collect income in their account more regularly than men and are keener to shop offline and online, according to the company’s updated data.

The profile of BCR female client shows dynamism, modernity and especially financial emancipation. Out data shape up the portrait of a woman trading without using cash, who is frequently shopping, but also saving, who is accustomed with bills automatic payment and who is choosing internet banking. Such a well-balanced, constructive and innovating financial behavior proves us that each BCR female client is hiding an entrepreneur”, declared Dana Demetrian, BCR Retail Vice President.

Women stand for 49.4% of the total BCR clients, and the profile of the bank client shows that the monthly income (salary or pension type) of the misses or ladies are in rise compared to the minimum net monthly salary per economy. In addition, they also collect income in their account more regularly than men do.

The number of female clients of Banca Comercialǎ Românǎ using private banking services (accessible to those having more than EUR 200,000 in their account) increased by 8% in the last year. One of three BCR clients using private banking is a woman and women who use these services own 30% of total assets in the management of this segment. One third of the female clients of Banca Comercialǎ Românǎ using private banking make placements in investment funds.

Women save more than men, outrunning them in term deposits.

Women’s appetite for the improvement of the living standard of the whole family place them first when we talk about shopping, as they are the main debit card owners of the BCR portfolio. The attention and care for the current needs of the family can be seen in the women’s monthly expenses list, which shows their consistent concern to provide high quality services. We are talking about better education services for children, high quality medical services for the whole family, improvements or refurbishments of the house, or even the payment in due time of monthly bills, which most women are paying directly from their account, through Direct Debit service.

BCR female clients are trading more often and more by card on POS then men and have a high propensity to internet banking, one of three BCR clients using such services being a woman. At the same time, 56% of the bank female clients with internet banking use authentication by token or e-token.

Women using the internet banking services of Banca Comercialǎ Românǎ access their account twice a month on average and perform operations at least once a month, and 8% of them use this service only on mobile phone.

As for the business women in the BCR portfolio, most of them have companies in trade, production and services. Over one quarter of micro companies of Romania are managed by women and most entrepreneurs in this sector operate in Transylvania
