Bucuresti, 29th November 2017 - Data management and model-based strategic risk management have become the two key elements of the banking business that will define the shape of banking industry’s future. To further strengthen the relevant initiatives and activities and to support their implementation, the Erste Group Holding Board adopted a series of organisational measures which also impact the Management Board of BCR.

Bernd Spalt, currently Chief Risk Officer of BCR, will take over as Chief Risk Officer of Erste Bank Austria and become the fourth member of the Management Board of the bank. In addition to his position as CRO at Erste Bank Austria, Bernd Spalt will coordinate all areas pertaining to strategic risk management at Erste Group Level. 

Michel Beitz, Chief Risk Officer and Chief Workout Officer at BCR between 2010 – 2014, returns to BCR to assume Chief Risk Officer responsibilities, starting with January 1st 2018.
