Bucharest, April 1, 2020 - Banca Comercială Română Group supports the fight against Covid-19 pandemic by all means available, including its electric vehicles, belonging to the eGo car sharing fleet, which will be placed at the disposal of active personnel in healthcare units.

In order to support medical personnel involved in fighting the virus in this period, BCR leasing offers 3 cars to Bucharest and Ilfov Ambulance Service (SABIF), 3 cars to Timis Ambulance Service and 3 to Constanta Ambulance Service, with an opportunity to add to the number of cars. The BMW i3 models will be used for transporting medicines, patient visits and if necessary, home testing.

The efforts of BCR to fight COVID-19 pandemic are focused toward several vital areas during this period. BCR announced last week providing financial support amounting to RON 2.5 million for fighting against COVID-19 pandemic, the money being already directed towards local hospitals, communities and NGOs involved in purchasing and collecting healthcare materials, supporting vulnerable people, for education regarding prevention and protecting people, but also towards efforts to provide distance learning.

eGO car fleet is managed by Mojito Software, providing access for medical personnel to the electric vehicles by means of the mobile phone application. The cars placed at the disposal of the healthcare services are marked with green stickers which read "MEDICAL TRANSPORT" and will undergo disinfection before being handed over.

BMW Romania and Renovatio have also joined this initiative. BMW importer in Romania donates 7 wall boxes for charging the electric vehicles, which will be mounted within ambulance stations in Bucharest, Timisoara and Constanta. Renovatio, the operator of the largest network of public charging stations in Romania offers free charging within e-Charge network for the cars placed at the disposal of the medical personnel.

BCR eGo service was launched at the end of 2017, being created both for private individuals, as well as for companies who wish to offer their employee an electric urban mobility service.
