Bucharest, May 4, 2020 - Banca Comercială Română launches a new solution for supporting customers who want to receive their pension on a card. Thus, they will have the opportunity to request, thanks to a simplified flow developed by BCR, the receipt of their pension on a card, through a mere phone-call, without having to go to any of the bank branches or to Pension Houses.
Upon request from its customers, BCR will take over, through the Contact Center, the request to transfer the pension on a card, will complete such request on behalf of the beneficiary, and will subsequently send it to the Pension Houses. After the approval of the request, the Pension House will transfer the pension into the account the customer has with BCR, during the next month or the second month after submitting the request, at the latest, and the customers will receive a notification via text message.
“The flow was created out of care for senior customers, in order to limit going out of the house or coming into contact with the people outside. With the help of technology and colleagues, we have developed in less than a month a fast, simplified process, which can be activated by phone, to collect the pension in a bank account, with an attached card, with home delivery for the card, and to make payments or transactions through our Contact Center. "We will launch, in parallel, an education campaign for young people who may guide the seniors in accessing remote baking services, online or via phone", stated Marian Ignat, Executive manager Digital Banking, Banca Comercială Română.
BCR has recently expanded the range of operations available by a mere phone-call to the Contact Center. Thus, currently, the following operations can be performed:
- Current account verification;
- Specialized assistance in using internet and Mobile Banking services
- Emergency assistance and user support for cards;
- Obtaining agreements for new card delivery at home;
- Bill payment (up to a single invoice and a maximum amount of 300 lei);
- Personalized and general information about BCR services and products;
- Bank transfers through Alo24 service;
- Personal data update.
The activation flow regarding the receipt of the pension on a card also provides access to seniors who are not BCR customers. First, they must create an account, remotely, via George smart internet banking platform, using a phone, a tablet or a computer with an internet connection. The card is issued on the spot and delivered in a few days at home, the delivery costs being borne by BCR. The people who choose to open a George account will benefit from all its advantages, including no commission on withdrawal from any ATM in the world or a Ron 0 transfer fee in George or account administration.
The requests for activating the receipt of the pension on a card may be submitted to BCR Contact Center, by using the following phone numbers: *2227– normal rate number which can be used from landlines/mobile networks Telekom, Orange, Vodafone, RDS-RCS- or+4.021.407.42.00– normal rate number, can be used from abroad.
BCR charges a RON 2 administration fee per month for "Comod" package, dedicated to pensioners and offers a Ron 0 commission upon withdrawal and balance interrogation at BCR ATMs, as well as for payments with merchants, and special interest rate deposits or account overdrafts amounting to three net pensions.
